In·gu·she·ti·a AHD[ĭnʹgo͞o-shē'tē-ə, ĭngʹ-] D.J.[ˈɪŋuːˌʃiːtiːə, ˈɪŋ-]K.K.[ˈɪŋuˌʃitiə, ˈɪŋ-]NONE（无词性）- An autonomous republic of southwest Russia in the northern Caucasus west of Chechnya. Conquered by Russia in the 19th century, it became the Ingush Autonomous Region (1924) and later formed (with Chechnya) a part of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1936).
